To me the oddest thing about the arguments in tire threads, is that over and over, the supporters of using proper load rated LT tires come up with numerous logical arguments to support their case.
Yet the supporters of using ST tires can only support their argument by saying, "because I personally have had good luck with them", Or the ever popular, "oh gee, my ST tire failed, but it was because I tried to make it last more than three years....shame on me".
So I would say these threads do serve a good purpose, because many readers are able to read between the lines and see where logic may or may not lie.
EDIT: my point, to put it another way, is to say that a given brand of ST tire is "the best" is kind of like picking the prettiest girl in the ugly girl contest. ( ouch.... )
