To suggest that Maxxis is equal to those is disregarding the facts .

And by "disregarding the facts", you of course mean those "facts" such as this little gem you just put up:

Very few are aware of the Maxxis brand outside of this forum .
Never mind that you're talking about The NINTH BIGGEST tire company in the world.
But I'm sure Wikipedia doesn't know what it's talking about any more than we simpletons here in the forums do.
NINTH BIGGEST ! ha ! ha ! ....out of how many ? Nine ? Ha ! ....just kidding FK !
Truthfully, they are only a $2B company. Considering that at least "some" of that is derived from sales of bicycle, motor scooter, and small motorcycle tires.....well, let's just say they are not a major player in the market of tires for actual on road vehicles like we discuss here. Compare them to GoodYear, at probably $20B, the Michelin group at probably more than that, Bridgestone is probably $20B plus.
Bottomline to me is if the OE car manufacturers don't want anything to do with a tire company, then neither do I. And the second part of that is, they are not even a "bargain" at retail price point. They might be 10% to 15% lower priced than tires from the majors. I'm just not feeling the love. To each his or her own.
I was pricing truck tires on an Internet website and Maxxis tires came up as well. They were with in a couple of dollars of the major producers. And the common complaints on this board on their ST tires are price and availability.
