Tire comments / experience / recommendations

I'm shopping for new tires for TV. I've had the Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure tires recommended (by a tire salesman) so wondering if anyone has experience with these tires. The "spirally wrapped layer of Kevlar to combine strength with comfort" sounds inviting. I originally was sold on the idea of Michelin LTX MS2. I'm looking for the tires I buy to give me a little more stability, currently I have P rated so anything is going to give me more. I think the Wranglers might be a stronger tire than the Michelin. Any comments, experience, suggestions?
Thanks everyone!
Terry
  • I put MS2s on my F150 about 3000 miles ago. Great tires so far. Haven't had 'em in the snow yet, but they are quiet and stable so far.

One thing -- I went w/ LTs, and I'm not convinced that was the right decision. The ride is stiffer, and mpg dropped by .5 to 1 from what I was getting w/ the worn stock tires (Goodyears). Can't feel any difference when towing, but I didn't feel any squirm or instability towing w/ the stock P's. Others report a noticeable difference moving to LTs, though, so who knows ...

    Good luck!
  • I'm a big fan of reviews and surveys from actual owners. Tire rack offers the feedback on models it sells and ranks them. Any tire that has millions of miles reported and is in the top few is probably great for most people and better than nearly any OEM tire available.

Pick your catagory: All Terrain and Highway All Season.
  • I have them on my truck, 1 full year now. I like them and have zero complaints. My truck doesn't see a lot of off road use but they perform well in the snow. Not too noisey and I am not seeing any wear yet. I would buy them again.

I like and have only used the Goodyear LT tires. I have "G" rated for my trailer. Depending on the weight of your trailer, you might get by "E" rated tires. I also have the Good Sam Emergency Road Side Service plan with the tire replacement option.
