I understood that it was the people who never checked the Air pressure on there ford explorers that caused the deaths, not the tire card on the door. if i recall, I think they all had 35 psi marked on the stickers, but there is 3 next door at my brothers, I can go check.
That is why we have been mandated with tire pressure alarm system by our government, they realize we are not capable of checking tire pressure ourselves.
Its been a problem for years, way before the ford explorer.
You know how many people were killed in Corvairs because they read 32psi on the sidewall and pumped the front tires up? It was supposed to be set to 15 psi cold. at 32 you could hardly steer them.
