Ford Explorers had 26psi on the door sticker, that was one of the problems. Firestone recommended 32psi. Most people never check tire pressure, I see dozens of nearly flat tires every day driving to and from work and around for my job. The drivers could care less, if you mention it, they still could care less. If a Ford Explorer started with 26psi, it had a solid 12psi after a year or two of people never checking and the tire fell apart.
You are always welcome to run as much or as little tire pressure as you want. Given time, the new auto braking, back up camera equipped, self driving car will no doubt report you.
I worked on aircraft for a decade, when we loaded heavy we upped tire pressures and increased strut pressure as well. We used a weight and balance book since we did not have a sticker in the hatch.
