I know this isn't a travel trailer post, same results to slides and plumbing. If you are running an older unit or an orphan parts might not be available.
In our case it's cost of damage and down time if a tire blows, more than tire cost. $5,000-$10,000 isn't uncommon on a motorhome if the tire takes out the tanks, hydraulic system, battery bay, inverter or electrical bay, plus all the body damage. When we are at the factory service center probably 10% of the 120 parking sites is taken up those that blew rear tires. Then waiting 4-6 weeks for repairs to be completed
