So I'm getting ready to purchase new tires for my 07 Dodge 2500 CTD 2 wheel drive quad cab 8 ft bed with the intent to purchase our 1st 5ver.So, after getting the TV stuck on level wet grass with worn out Transforce HT tires, im considering the actual benefits of maybe purchasing A/T or M/T tires, or, if theres not going to be much benefit, should i save the money and stick with an HT tire?

Additionally, i live in a small town with limited places to shop. Currently looking at the Dick Cepek trail country or General grabber, and maybe Mastercraft locally.

Like my Yokahama Geolanders. Quiet ride decent price.

My '03 2500 Dodge/Cummins 2wd came with LT265/70-17" E LTX AS tires. They were a very mild HT type tread that got me stuck on green grass if on a slope or trying to pull a trailer up a slope. The dangz things lasted over 100k miles. I replaced them with Bridgestone Revo AT tire. They were 100 percent better in snow/ice/mud and green grass conditions. I found a good AT type tire works better for my use especially over a full MT type tire with those large lugs and voids. I keep a pair for the rear for deep snow and mud however they can loose traction on wet pavement and helpless on ice or snow pack roads. Other folks have their favorite type of tread for a pickup truck.

What were the load capacities on those yokos and bridgestones?

Look hard at the Mastercraft's. I had a set of the MT's on my F250 sicko and they barely looked worn down after 15k miles on them with about 3k towing. That will be the next tire I buy for my new truck.

Second impression.....they sure throw a lot of rocks. After leaving my gravel drive, they are still slingin rocks 2 miles down the road.

Well, i think i got a good deal. I went to Plaza Tire in Kennett MO and purchased 4 new Yokohama 10 ply Geolander ATS.

Total cost wass $800 out the door with a $60 mail in rebate making it $740.

First impression....they seem a bit softer than my wore out Transforce HTs and steering seems a little darting back and forth. But both those issues may be that they didnt air them up to towing pressure. Ill check when i get home. I kept the Transforce at max pressure even when not towing.

I have been running the Nitto EXO Grapplers for the last 30K on a 3500. I like really like them. Great off road, seem to wear well.

Another BFG A/T fan - been running them for years ... just put a set on my 2015 Chevy. The stock tires drove me nuts!

The cooper ATP is made exclusively for discount tire. There is a similar tire, the AT3 that is sold all over but the tread pattern is a little different.

I don't hear them at all. We drove a 2200 mile round trip to Colorado and back for Christmas right after I put them on and they performed really well. Not as good in the snow as The BFG K02s on my brothers suburban but overall I was pleased especially considering the price was about 60% of what he paid for his

From what I've read the Cepek tires are not for trucks that work for a living.
I just put 4 E rated Herculese Terra Trac ATII on my truck. $1490 on the road. This was after my $1300 Continental Crosscontact LX20's only lasted 45,000km in 2 years.
