Similar issue with my pontoon trailer. Tires were wearing on the outside, axle looked like someone smiling(bowed the wrong way). Went to local trailer shop and had a 3500lb axle put on in place of the 2500. Problem solved. Cost was $285 out the door.(axle, u=bolts, plate, & labor). This was summer of 2017. True, you will need a heavier one than 3500lbs, possibly a little more $$$. Labor in your area probably higher than here in amish country in Ohio. But if you decide to go the axle replacement route and could drag it to Ohio, I would give you the number of the shop, maybe they could give you an estimate over the phone. Gary
