Wow, lots of action on this subject, as usual. I guess I should acknowlege some of them. Yes, I realized they were bias ply tires. Maxxis Canada is just an address, all tires are shipped from the US with shipping costing more than the tires, plus duty, etc. Not practical. The fancy wheels were not an issue, I already have aluminum wheels, only asking about the tires. I can only get Marathon or Carlisle locally, $105 and $150 respectively. Oh the joys of having to buy in Canada. Thanks again folks.

FWIW, I put four new on my rig, this fall. I chose the Carlisle Radial Trail RH. Got them in Load Range D which is more than enough for my 5000 lb., tandem axle trailer. I'm pretty well convinced that sudden tire failure is due, in most cases, to something other than the brand or quality of the tire.
