Apr 12, 2018Flat repairs aren't terribly expensive (around $10) and can be done everywhere regardless to where the tire was purchased. Last time I checked Discount Tire still does free flat repair on any tire brought in.
Most of the online retailers also sell road hazard warranties to cover these situations. When it comes to a repairable flat, you pay for the repair and they reimburse you. When the tire can't be repaired they'll either ship a new one to you or pay for a replacement. Years back I had a tire develop a bubble. I called up Tirerack, sent them a picture, and they had a new tire to me the next morning.
Unless you purchase some type of third party warranty then the only warranty you have is the manufacturer's warranty. In this situation you would have to work with the manufacturer. Shops will tell you that if you want the tire repaired or replaced for free then you'll have to contact the manufacturer. They'll be more than happy to sell you a new tire though.
