I've ran GY Marathons for 10,000 miles two times. 1st set were USA made, 2nd set is China made. I expect to get another years worth of towing with the China set. Giving me 14-15,000 miles on them. I don't run over 65 mph unless I need to for passing and that's just for less than 1/8th mile. I don't run the tires at the max load. They're under by 2860lbs or 715lbs each tire. I run the max sidewall PSI. I find it sad too that too many newbies fall into the ST China bomb issue. They run out and get new tires and then more than likely never put enough miles on them before they are past the age limit. Brand new Maxxis with 4-5,000 miles on them in 5 years and 1/2 the tread left. Yes ST tires blow, so do car and truck tires. BTDT with some Michelins on a Honda Accord.
There's lots of reasons for blowouts. It's impossible to know what the delivery guy hit with the tires or how fast he was driving. Overloaded, underinflated, towing over the speed limit and a bad tire period.
It's get really irritating when someone posts a question about ST tires and 2 post latter, it's "get 16" LT tires". The majority of trailers won't take 16" wheels. TT's outsell 5ers hands down. Most TT's come with 14" or 15" tires. Very few LT tires that have the correct load rating will work. None for my trailer.
I wish people that post "get 16" LT tires immediately" would take the time to check what the poster is towing.
I'm beginning to think I need to own a 5er with 16" tires and a DRW to be complete. Dang.
