First make sure it’s not repairable. Many Tire shops are are more conservative than necessary for multiple reasons (liability and profit).
Next, depends how many burnouts you’ve done with the matching one? to determine if you need 2. But I bet there’s a very slim chance that replacing both tires is preferable based on the mileage on the tires.
