tires
we just got back from a 3500 mile trip and the tt tires, which are brand new, were fine. but at every destination i checked pressure and lug nut tightening. i'm taking it in for some minor warranty ...

Only takes once to pay for the time spent each time you check and not need anything done. There would be a lot fewer bad tire threads if everyone took the time to check the air pressure each morning or even once a week.
I'm not disagreeing with his approach or challenging his method. But simply for curiosity, I wonder if there were changes. I usually check my pressure every morning or two on a trip. As for the lug nuts, I usually check them at 25, 50 and 100 miles after a tire change. I've noticed that it's quite common for the lug nuts to move 1/8 of a turn when I torque them at 25 miles, move slightly at 50 miles, and be "locked" in at 100 miles plus.
