TL Derringer handles

I bought a set when I needed short ones after I flatbeded my truck
I had a few sets of old happijac `s , so I used the front spring loaded ones ,added a short length of stainless all thread and a lock washer between the nut against the happijac body so they cant be turned loose with out a wrench , so they can be locked
That's the difference in fast guns ,they cant be loosened once there locked
Torklift changed the derringers some time ago to be aluminum , what`s not alum is stainless , no rust

The Qwik-Loads look like a lighter version of the AnchorGuard connected to the Derringers even though they are rated at 4000 lbs:

Pete, unless I am missing something...the HJ Quick load is more like the full TL Fast Gun?

Hey Bob...good point...I'll save them for when (if) the snow ever melts this year.

I went with the Happi Jack quick units. $50 Craigslist find.

Easier but still not the real thing.

The only problem I see with that setup is they are not SS . I wonder how they will hold up on our wonderfully salted roads when you take the TC skiing ?

Torklift sells this kit that contains turnbuckle, spring and chain which can be used with the Derringer:

The handles are simple lever action, no spring load. Any spring would be in the turnbuckle.

The Derringers are not spring loaded. You need to buy an external spring. When I was looking for a setup for my flat bed, I priced out the Derringers with springs, links and chains verses the short FastGuns. The Derringer setup was cheaper, but the FastGuns are easier to use.
