- jefe_4x4ExplorerThere are a lot of TC-toting vets on this forum. I am, as it appears one of many, who owe a great debt of gratitude to them. I still get verklempt thinking about all the men and women "who died to make men free." Many of the hard-core vets on here will probably not reply. We were in Flagstaff for most of the week this past week and a trombone-toting Army veteran and I were reminiscing about our 'faux' service. He played in TUSAB (The United States Army Band) and I played trombone in the 562d U.S.A.F. Band. He and I both played with the L.A. Philharmonic and retired the same year. Faux is the fact that we never had to dodge bullets, sleep in the mud, loose our hearing due to shell explosions, or loose our tomorrow.
Pax in aeternum those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. In manus tuas, Domine, commendo spiritum meum. (Into thy hands, O Lord, i commend my spirit)

YOU are the true American heroes!!! - Mello_MikeExplorerThank you! And thanks to those who served!
- fla-gypsyExplorerAs a child of a WWII vet I would also like to thank all who serve and a special thanks to all those who served in the "Big One" who are still with us. May God help us to prevent that from ever happening again.
- Butch50ExplorerYour welcome and I would like to thank all of the vets before me and the ones after me.
- the_tc_lifeExplorerit is nice to see the appreciation towards us veterans. I only wished that I had the day off so i could go and attend some of the events they have scheduled today around town with fellow veterans. to those before, during and after my service time... thank you.
- janechucknicodeExplorerThanks for the notice, I as many do and most are closet vets as I was till several years ago. I did not go over any where,(stationed from 59'-63' here in the states) but the Vietnam era was a real sort for me.
We saw our country get torn into small pieces over that mess, and so many of our troops sent over as guides, supports and teachers.
And losing lives before our country wanted to admit we were involved. Now as I am older and have several friends from many situations, and two grandsons in service, I feel it needs to come out from all you Vets and families to say no not say, but to plead for sanity in our war mongering world.
Tears still come when I see or hear of even more losses and my family to us Every Day is Veterans Day.
So thanks to all for your support.
Chuck - coachmen1955Explorerthank you
