I have 4 years left then I will delete my Cummins. Each to their own, but the funny part is that your lawn mower and hedge trimmer are far worse then picking on the truck diesels. Now lets talk about the emissions from planes? hahaha Rabbit hole by design.
The difference between your lawn mower and your diesel is that emissions from gas engines like the one in lawnmower are more harmful to the ozone while your diesel emissions are more harmful to people. This is why emissions are more strict for diesel. There are a lot of people that mistakenly think that the emissions on these diesels are there to appease the tree hugging liberals and Prius drivers.
Like I was trying to point out in my initial post in this thread, but someone said it was a foolish comment. The DPF is there to trap and collect the diesel particulates that are very harmful to your respiratory system, and the EGR/SCR is there to reduce NOx that turns to acid when it reacts with moisture in the air or moisture in your lungs. If you have ever drove to a big city, and as you were coming up to it from a distance you saw a yellowish or brown smog hovering over it? Well that is NOx gas.
