Built in sofas or jack-knife sofa-beds are horrible in my opinion. I had 2 trailers with built in sofas and hated both of them. My current trailer has stand-alone furniture. A real couch and real rocker chairs. Both very comfortable.
Previous camper: Horrible to sit on this thing. Hated it! Couldn't do anything with it either since it was built in, the furnace and the water pump were both located under it.
Current camper: Stand alone furniture. Much more comfortable. Use it all the time!
My opinion .... get stand alone furniture and stay away from the built in furniture. It is much more versatile and you can swap it out if you don't like it without having to do any modifications to your camper.
