It was an essential component for us and that's why we went with the Lance 865. We use the bathroom all we can, but occasionally use campground showers when we find clean well maintained campground facilities. That allows us to keep things dry in the rig rather than use the shower mode. Showering isn't all that bad as we just squeegee things off quickly after each use.
We found we have to take shorter showers inside the rig as the gray water tank is only 13 gallons and will fill fast. In our fiver we tend to "wallow" in the shower until the hot water runs out- but not in the TC. Black water storage does not seem to be a problem in the 865.
We have not found the outside shower to be very useful for bathing. Its handy for washing our hands outside the rig in the campground, or getting a bit of water for other needs.
