Interesting reading. I am also willing to describe me as a "newbie"...This is my second camper (2009 Keystone Laredo 29BHS). Our first camper was a smaller, lighter Grey Wolf 26 BH. We wanted to make sure we were really going to enjoy camping. Happy to say the Wolf made it to the Grand Canyon and Durango, Co and this summer the Laredo made it Yellowstone and back. Awesome.
The Laredo is about 2000 lbs heavier than the Wolf. The towing went great. But I am very curious about what the weights really are. If I hook up the TT and take it to the local scales, what exactly do I do?
1. Keep it hitched and drive onto scale with truck only? then move forward until trailer is on the scale too?
2. Do I unhitch and drive with just truck?
3. Hook up and drive onto scale and then unhitch and weigh just trailer (with it set leveled? will that tell me tongue wt?)?
4. I feel kind of dumb asking, and kind of holding my breath,
Thanks for letting me wiggle into the thread.
