Took the plunge!

After months of going back and forth in my head on whether I had enough truck or not, I brought home my new 2016 F350 DRW yesterday. Before that I had an 2015 F350SRW (2 wheel drive). With the estimated pin weights for the fifth wheels the wife and I are looking at, I would have been about 137 pounds from my max payload. Sure, I probably would have been alright, but when we start our full timing adventure, and travel over the rockies and sierra nevadas, I was afraid that would put a lot of undue stress on it. If I can figure out how to post a pic, I will. By the way, got the truck at Lumberton Ford in Lumberton, NC. They gave me one hell of a deal on my trade and the new one!

  • I also just purchased a new F350 DRW. Absolutely love it and haven't towed with it yet. We're going to Yosemite in a few months and I just was not at all comfortable with my F250 gasser going over the mountains. I'm sure it could have done it easily but now I have No doubts about anything. This machine is a beast and can really fly...
  • Good call on going with the dually; you won't regret it.

I wish you many happy miles ahead with the new tow beast!:B
  • Sounds like you are well setup. So where you going for your 'trial run'? Looking forward to some pics.

    Good luck,
    Stu
  • Congrats! You'll enjoy it! You'll find those DRW's to be MUCH more stable than the SRW. If you had a good tow before, you're in for a real treat now! Congrats!
