torklift glow steps report

Well I have now had them on for 2 weeks, I must say I am impressed. Had one moment of difficulty which was solved by reading the instructions. (real men do not read instructions) It is nice to have stable steps, especially when carrying loads in and out of the trailer. The ONLY negatives I have found is that there is a danger of driving off with them down, I hang a note on my steering wheel. They take an extra 5 seconds to deploy and put back, but heck I am retired. They don't really glow all that much, I am in Mexico where sun is hitting them much of the day as well, but that is a minor feature and you can see them. All in all, one of the best mods I have done to my trailer. They are a winner. They certainly attract attention in RV parks. Now the next thing is to get my wife & dogs approval, both are back home at the moment and have not seen them.
  • I'm not the OP, but I have the GlowStep Revolution and also love ours. We have the 4 step version and from the ground to top of the steps is around 39". When they pull out, the steps stay at an even distance, so there is no adjustments that need to be made by you. When they are down, you then put down the landing legs, which can be adjusted to the ground, whether it's level or not.

I am thoroughly satisfied with mine and DH, who has had double knee replacement, loves them more than I do. They were really easy to install (except they were heavy to hold up there to bolt in).

A few questions if you don't mind:

Have you got the 4 step or 3 step version?

How high above the ground is the floor inside your trailer (level TT and ground)?

Are you able to get all risers equal from floor to ground level or are you having to adjust the landing gear legs much to make the treads level?

Does your wife know you went ahead and did this?? :W
  • Torklift makes fine products, great customer service AND a wonderful 'Ambassador Program'

I think the 'glow' is subdued so that they are not a distraction (light pollution) at night ----just enough glow to be visible

Why would they be more susceptible to driving off with them down then OEM stairs?

Final Walk Around.......should be a set routine. Especially when alone.
