Idk. The Torklift camper tie downs I installed on my 2012 chevy truck (same as yours btw) bolted right up with zero modifications. Either you received the wrong brackets or you are not to sure of what your doing.
On the topic of the Stable loads... they worked like a charm in my application and I would recommend them to anyone.
