I recently acquired a stock 2004 Dodge 3500 4x4 with dual rear wheels. It has upper and lower overload springs. It also has stableloads on the upper overloads.
I do not think the pads contact the upper overload leaf on the unloaded truck on all Rams. Mine does not. There is about 1-inch travel before the stableloads contact the upper overloads.Unloaded. Unloaded, my Ram has what I think is an exceptionally smooth ride. I have not loaded my 4200 pound TC as yet, so I can't comment on the loaded.
