Frightening how quickly things like this can happen. I would say "could have been worse", which it could, but assume you've already heard that enough times. Glad you made it through without serious injury.
Here in West TN this has been the weirdest winter since we've lived in the south - 25 years. One day it's 60, then next day freezing rain, then 40, then Lord knows what. We leave soon for FL and have been fretting over this very thing....ice. Last year in FL we froze to death - managed to be there for their "unusually cold snap". This year we're preparing differently. Think after reading this, if it looks like the weather is getting iffy when we plan to leave, we'll just head out earlier and then hope we can get home some time. Good thing our doggie-sitters are flexible.
