If this delivery was not by the dealership itself but rather a contracted delivery service (which the OP failed to detail) why would the driver have to "deal with it"? His job is merely to tow the trailer from A to B and drop it off ... any issues with the trailer itself are between the new owner and dealership from which it was purchased. :R
The driver, whether he was working directly for or contracted by the dealership, has an obligation to forward any issues to the dealership and all it would have taken is a phone call. This is simply good practice so the customer is well taken care of. Being lazy and not wanting to get involved is not acceptable. I would mention the drivers response to the dealership management.
