My last 2 diesels were equipped with a manual tranny - best thing for mountain towing. Now in my new 3500 it has the Aisin tranny with a 342 rear end. I will be towing a tow hauler TT of about 11,0...

Open highway - want to go between 60 and 70 mph - why not let it shift into 6th if the engine can pull it?
Mine will drop into 6th if the conditions allow. Although watching the MPG not a lot of difference with 6th at 3/4 throttle vs 5th at, say 1/2.
Not running a Diesel but a turbo gasser. With the more torque of a Diesel I'd think it would also drop to 6th if need be.
