Tow vehicle F150

I think that we need more detail as to why you were not happy with the F150. I pull quite a bit more than that with mine and am satisfied. How was your truck configured? How about the hitch? What year model was it? What are you expecting? I don't think that anyone's half ton will exceed a properly equipped and set up F150 so recommending something in that range is difficult without a better description of what went wrong.

The F250 is a more solid and forgiving platform for not much more money up front, at least for the gas version. It does give up some ride quality and fuel economy though.
