Take test drives around 'toon Town's roads with empty trucks. See which empty ride you want to live with to have "payload"... :)
Haha.. I should get on that. The roads are as bad right now as I've ever seen them.
So sticking with 150/1500 I'm basically limited to F150 and Silverado/Sierra with max tow packages. They all appear to have 1900+ payload. Doing some calculations, 1600 would do. But an important point was made above about a friend or 2 coming along for the kids.
Anyways, thanks all. There appears to be a number of options. Now its time to do some shopping.
Ford has 2 packages. Max tow and max payload. They can be combined but the max payload is very rare. Could not find one in BC or AB when I was looking, but I didn't look that hard.
Chev/GMC has a single package, max trailering. Gives both the greater towing and more payload. My 2015 5.3L CC, SB has a tow rating of 10,800 and a payload of 2015. I tow a 2010 Cougar 30RKS with a loaded weight around 8,000 lbs. I use an Equal-i-zer 4 point hitch and it tows fine. I am looking at adding air bags.
I don't tow enough and this is my daily driver so I like the 1500 vs a 2500. Towing in Sask you will have no problem.
