Again not a Ford fan boy but what I have read on the 6.0 the main issues with it were:
1: EGR oil cooler failure that a coolant filter system will prevent right?
2: Weak head bolts that will fail with any overheating? Didn't Ford come out with an up dated head bolt? Along with a new radiator cap every 50,000 miles.
As far as the injectors GM has the same issue, and older Cummins owners not running a diesel fuel lube additive will also have this.
The truck jbers is looking at is a known truck to him, well maintained and bone stock! To tell him to run from this truck is IMO a disservice to him.
As far as a turbo rebuild? not sure why Bryan would say that, does the 6.0 have a turbo issue also, I have never heard of that. Same with the injector, sensor and injector pump issues.
jbers if you can get it for $7,500 you would be a fool IMO to pass that up. Given you know the truck and the owner I would be all over that, if you don't buy it PM me and I'll look at it.
