Tow vehicle

I would not question the TT you want to get. Some dont need alot of space for their family and others want as much as possible. IMO, I want as much possible.. The more space the kids have, the less the clean up to do in these small campers. I cant wait to upgrade next year to our next step up the larger TT ladder.

My only thought is that the 150 weighs less than the 250, that extra weigth for the 3/4 ton trucks keeps you a lot more stable on the road and safer. A short bed 250 is not that much different to drive than a 150 for a daily driver. You will FEEL more comfortable towing with any 3/4 truck with the weights you are looking at. My buddy pulls just about the same weights and length you are talking about with his ECO 150, and he says he gets blown around alot.

Seems like lots of pricing discrepancy.

$10K difference,$18K difference,$4K difference?

I tried pricing the 2 out on the Ford site. F150 XLT, eco, max tow and payload versus the similarly equipped F250 diesel, they price out to within $4k of each other. I'm sure prices on the lots will vary greatly but I bet you can pick up a nice leftover '13 F250 for cheap.

WOW! WAY NOT TRUE. My 13' XLT Ecoboost Max Tow HD was pertnear $18,000 less than a comparable F-250 diesels & comparable 250's with the 6.2 were almost $12,000 more. I did allot of research, figuring & talking with the ford people before I decided on the 150.

If you compare apples to apples the Super Duty F-250 diesel is about $10,000 more than a F-150 with the max tow package. The F-150 max trailer tow package is a $460 option. The factory rebates are better on the F-150.

I have a 2013 F-150 4X4 Crew Cab Eco Boost with the max tow package. I tow a 24' toy hauler that I weighed and it's 7,800 pounds unloaded. My 4X4 is rated to tow 11,200 pounds. This truck pulls my toy hauler better than my 2002 F-250 4X4 crew cab V-10. It has more power than my V-10 and gets around 14 mpg around town and over 20 on the highway. Towing loaded is 8 to11 mpg. My only complaint is the tires that the truck came with from the factory 20" P-metric tires. I put a set of Michelin load range E tires on which solved the tire problem.

Difference is the kids Milo, they add some serious weight as they get older. Plus I imagine your truck as configured is the exception rather than the rule.

Yeah why even mess with those puny little F-150's. Go big or stay home. Oh shucky darn ... I drive a puny little F-150 Ecoboost HD w/2172 P C & pull a 8600# TT with a TW of 1046# & GVWR 9450 all over the Rockies & Northwest part of the country. Must say it's twice the truck my old 04' F-250 6.0 was. But the majority out there, no mater what the facts are will never believe a puny little 150 or 1500 for that mater could pull any thing bigger than a little bread box. JMO
