- catfishmontanaExplorerI thought the article was pretty amusing.
- fla-gypsyExplorerInteresting but I never put any stock in lists from this site. Based on the reported sales figures the first 2 months this year it is not surprising. As to whether sales figures for GM produced trucks will sink further or if they just did a poor job of managing inventory we will have to wait to see how sales figures look for the complete first quarter.
- mich800ExplorerI wonder about the slow turnover on some of these GM vehicles on dealers lots. I wonder if it has any thing to do with the dealer shake out during the bankruptcy. Is GM cramming down high inventory levels on their dealers? I have friends that own Chrysler and Ford dealerships and that can happen. Maybe GM is forcing higher minimum purchases from their dealers relative to the others. I don't know I am not an insider just curious.
- 45RicochetExplorerThose new GM's have the keyless, key fob type system yet? :W
- The GM trucks listed are the HD's which I'm certain are the old model year trucks.
The public has now seen the new '15 HD's and are probably waiting for the new generation trucks. GM will require huge discounts to move the old generation trucks to move them off the lots. - BumpyroadExplorerso what does it mean to sit on the dealer's lot for xxx days? they over stock? and 70K-110K vehicles on that list? my second class A was a year old model so it had sat on the lot for I would suppose 10-18 months.
bumpy - RanduExplorerWhat is somewhat misleading is the fact that GM did a fairly large build ahead of 2014 models. Keep in mind the story was dated in early Jan. I believe the plants stopped 2014 production in early November to be down 3 months. This was for change over to the new body and interior of the 2015 HD series. New 2015 2500HD's are jut starting to hit lots now with the new interior and body to match up with the 1500 series that was updated with the 2014 models. Incentives are huge right now on the 2014 if you can find them. I saved just north of $11,000 from MSRP on a 2014 3500HD LTZ Duramax that I purchased yesterday.
There were only 2 within 250 miles of me that had SRW and Crew cab Long box. Randu - BB_TXNomadI think announcing the early release of the 2015 GMs was a killer for the 2014 sales. I still don't think that was a good idea. But what do I know. With Ram and Ford making large gains in sales compared to GM, makes you wonder if GM buyers are waiting, or are they switching sides.
And now the new controversial delayed recall and inevitable law suits may put GM right back in bankruptcy. - v10superdutyExplorer

Everyone knows you need to combine Chevy and GMC together for the slowest moving.
:W - JTracExplorerI'm upgrading to a dually. I have a GMC and like it well enough to get another. Knowing that there is a big change with the 2015 2500's and 3500's I just could not see getting a 2014 off the lot. The price difference between what my ordered 2015 3500 and a 2014 on the lot was about $4500, not chump change, but not enough to offset depreciation between the two, in my way of thinking. Not sure how much the model change is hurting the sales of ones on the lot but it influenced my decision. Maybe dealers ordered a bunch of the 2014's knowing there would be a downtime for the model changeover. At least they would have something on hand to sell. But, what do I know. The answer is, not much.
