Towing 25' TT with Jetta TDI

Maybe you're right. We are in your northwoods, at the NHAL State Forest. 98% of the campers are from WI, including the subject Jetta owners.

When you see the Jetta actually hooked up to the trailer, I'll believe it.

What is the rating of the exact same car in Europe?

Have you guys seen what they use as tow vehicles in basically any other market that's not in North America? C- and D-segment cars (like a Jetta/Golf or Hyundai Sonata), small-ish trailers like the pic in the OP's first post.

No, but the CG ticket clipped to the post has numbers for people, vehicles, and pets. Theirs only shows 1 vehicle. There is a hitch ball on the Jetta. So I'm wondering.

Okay, everything indicates the Jetta pulled the TT to the site.

Food for thought: IF the TDI did tow the TT to the campground, somehow, amazingly, it didn't overheat then explode & he didn't die in a fiery crash.

It was likely over limits, but does anyone even notice when a 1ton is over it's limits? Is an overloaded HD pickup any safer than an overloaded passenger sedan?

Even if they could, they shouldn't.

Maybe it has been modified by CanAm. They seem to make some inappropriate vehicles into TVs, but their customers are happy.
