I go by the 80% formula to disregard published tow rating
Max tow rating example: 7600 x 80%. = 6080lb.
Max hitch weight 6080 x 13% = 790lbs
If you don't have 790lb of available payload after loading the truck the 6080lb loaded trailer is too big!
Others say Deduct 2000lbs off tow rating, or 20% less than published.
It all is the same??
