If the trailblazer has the neutral for selection like the blazers did the above should work fine. My son's LTZ trailblazer did not have that setting his had the Automatic system . Auto, Hi, Low, and had no way to disconnect it from the drive line. So if you have the Auto transfer case I do not think you can tow it with any wheels on the ground.
