I have been using electric brakes for 38 years, I know what they should look like. I have never seen any that got this ugly this soon.

The grooves don't show up well in the photo. The magnets have a full length steel surface at the top and bottom that follows the grooves that they make. Rather than dressing the magnets flat, that are over half spent, I elected to throw the whole mess out. I expect to run as many miles this summer as what is already on the trailer. By that time there would be nothing left.

Note the lump at the bottom of the magnet and the wear depth on the holes. Also note the difference in the size and design of the Dexter magnets. I believe that there will be some improvement.

For those who have never had to “hit the hooks” for an emergency stop, count yourself lucky. The DW and I were on a two lane windy road in MN doing about 35 mph max.

A doe and two fawns darted out. I threaded the gap between the doe and the first fawn knowing the second fawn would have to stop or run into the TT.

Well we all escaped unscathed; but I can tell you it seemed like a lot of pavement went by before we stopped. Still, it was rather quick. In retrospect the TT and TV handled perfectly. I hope I never have to test my reflexes like that again.

Seems like there is a bit of "me, me, me and I, I, I" on this thread. What about the lives of the rest of us? If some want to fly along at whatever speed under whatever conditions, that's fine with me. When you flip off the road and kill someone, at least you were doing it on your terms. Really, I don't mind as long as it's not my family. Anyone else bothered by this? So when you're all crashed out in the median or alongside the road and you were zipping along at 85, just know that others passing by are commenting on "that idiot" that blew by them a few miles back. And to give you this newsflash.....this life is NOT just about YOU and what YOU want. Tired of stupid and yes, I am having a really bad day.

X2; there's always some poor miscreant who believes there are no limits on his or her abilities, right up until the time the rubber side is up instead of down and then they always appear so shocked. Folks running over 65 with a TT in tow are UNSAFE, period.

The new built in brake controllers are probably tied to the abs in the truck nowadays.

LOL... thats what I came away with after reading all the posts.

I'm on I-44 in OK where the speed limit is 75 mph. I keep LT tires on all of my heavier trailers and the RVs and P tires on smaller trailers so I have no tire issues with speed. Or how fast or slow others travel pulling their Teton with a chevy Love. :)
