And FWIW, there are unibody SUV's out there that have tow ratings of over 5k lbs, not to many real Frame cars anymore!
The car in question can handle it, the hitch shown, not so much!
People need to stop living in the 60's, 70's and 80's. The manuf, haven't left us much to choose from to tow smaller TT's
I agree. If a good class III hitch is used, along with proper weight distribution, this will work. There are plenty of Chargers & 300's towing trailers.
I find the unibody comments very funny. A Grand Cherokee can be rated to tow over 7000 lb, and it is a unibody. My neighbors years ago towed a large TT with a 72 Dodge Coronet wagon, also a unibody. Modern unibody vehicles are so much better than what we had in the past. I installed a Curt class III hitch on my unibody Grand Caravan, and I was not exactly bolting the hitch to "sheet metal" as some say.
The brakes on the Charger are not rated to stop a 3800 lb trailer, but the brakes on a Ford F150 are also not rated to stop a 3800 lb trailer. That's what trailer brakes are for.
