You're cars owners manual states the car is rated to tow 2000lbs !!!
You can put a hitch on it that is rated for 10,000lbs but you can only tow 2000lbs.

I thought I read he was an automotive engineer and knows how the tow ratings are set. Surly an engineer would understand the difference between the specs for an individual component compared with that of an entire assembly. Can I put z rated tires on my F250 and now it will go over 140 mph? Or is more likely it will achieve the same top speed it does on the current tires?
I had some friends in high school that would put every bolt on performance part on their car and add up the claimed HP from each component. It was amazing they could increase HP 100+ with an air filter an a couple other things. But they were disappointed every time we went the the drag strip and their times never added up to the magical increase in HP.
