Am I missing something here?
You are.
Chrysler set the max at 2k for ANY HITCH, however decided to allow 3,800 with the CHRYSLER DESIGNED HITCH and ONLY THE CHRYSLER DESIGNED HITCH.
There is no TT with a frontal area that small. Boats and pop ups is what you are limited too... Or does this magical hitch have a frontal area specification as well?
Where is it so stated?
Also... This magical hitch will also bolt up to a car with the 2.7L engine as well, right? Does that mean that it becomes super magical and raises that cars rating from 1000# all the way to 3800#? If not, why not? It is the same exact logic that you are applying with your car!
And here is the best part,,, and why you are dead wrong.
Closely read the tow ratings listed on the previous page.
Pay attention to the part where they derate the tow rating as an additional passenger is added.....
Adding a passenger doesn't make the hitch any weaker at all!!
So why is the cars tow rating lowered!! It should still be able to tow the full 2000#!!!!
Game, set, match.
