The most important thing to know is your vehicle's payload capacity and the hitch ratings: Ford Towing Guide The payload capacity is on a sticker on the driver's side door jamb. Subtract from that number the weight of all passengers, cargo, and the tongue weight of the trailer. If you have a remainder, you're good to go as long as the hitch rating is adequate.
