OP, a nap? Yes, this thread needs to be put to bed, like so many others here, concerning the class 2 10,000 GVWR of 3/4 ton trucks. Ford also offered their F350 with a class 2 10K GVWR. This helped some folks, as their license cost was less, or they could park a class 2 truck in their neighborhood, but not a class 3, which means more than 10K GVWR.
If you ask someone knowledgeable, like rhagfo above, which truck can carry the larger FW/GN trailer?? A Ford F150, with a payload sticker on the door of 2,500 lbs, or your F250, with a payload sticker not to exceed 2,161? If he is being honest/helpful, well of course the F250, due to it's axle rating being way more!! In the case of the 150, you may be within the payload sticker, but over the axle/tire rating which can be a legal issue.
Jimnlin above, also is very knowledgeable, and will not give wrong info concerning these axle, or payload stickers.
Hope this clears up the artificial class 2 payload rating, which is capped at 10K GVWR, less the actual wt of your truck, when the axles allow much more.
Not much more to explain, but hope your concerns are put to rest (nap) :)!
