Towing mirrors....

Do yourself a favor and buy the OEM mirrors if not new then from a wreaking yard! Having bought after market mirrors that came from China I sent them back and ordered the from the dealer!

There are some aftermarket towing mirrors made in Canada. They make most of the mirrors for the big three. Look on Ebay and make sure that in the description it says made in Canada. With all that said I went to Ebay and could not find one OME mirror or OEM mirror.

The issue I had with the aftermarket mirrors was the mirror itself would flex distorting the image. I could fix this by quickly moving the mirror back in the opposite direction to flatten the mirror back out. The motors were also very loud compared the the factory mirrors. They were sent back for a full refund + all shipping. I would make sure whoever you buy from will pay the return shipping if you are not satisfied. I bought from 1A Auto and they let me return the mirrors without any hassle at all!

If you do buy them and they have the turn lamps that need wired up make sure to install the mirrors, put the door panels back on and test the mirrors BEFORE you do any extra wiring! This includes driving the truck to make sure the mirrors don't bounce around driving at highway speeds. Drive with them pulled out like you would towing. If your happy with them you can remove the door panel and finish the wiring. This helps both you and the supplier. You because if you don't like them you save the time of having to unwire them. The supplier because he does not have to return them to the manufacture or pay for a new wiring kit. In the end both of you win.

that is a fact of sure.. the newer fords, 2008 and up i think have a killer mirror and the spot is hugh.. On my BIL's 2012 6.7L SD Ford the mirrors adjust, power fold and extend to tow position as well.

Only thing is see that could be better would be if you could power adjust the convex mirrors as well.. that would be da-bomb...

wow Team !... who knew ??? The most impressive thing about
all these options are the places you folks find on the
interweb. I need to create a folder with all these links
as my recent experience with replacement GM headlamps was
bodaciously expensive...and could have saved beau coup bucks
had I asked here first. (kind of like buying anything with the
two little initials "RV"..40% "sale" after 90% mark-up).

The motors on my oem extendable power mirrors are getting anemic,
and the rubber boots have all developed splits/cracks with age...
I really like the idea of new generation extendables...now, if only
they fit ?

Yes Mitch, those newer Ford mirrors are awesome for sure! I've had a Chevy neighbor, and a Toyota neighbor get in my truck, and the first thing they say, is great mirrors, wish mine had these.

When I brought the truck home, my wife came out to look at it, and her first comment was how good the mirrors were. She is usually indifferent, concerning my trucks.

I know Charles isn't going to add Ford mirrors, but like someone mentioned, he may be able to add some newer GM improved mirrors.

I guess the real question is, what have you folks done to get
safer views...those wrap ons (tried before) have too much vibration.

I bought a 2013 truck with factory tow mirrors! :) The mirrors are awesome!

I use THESE on all my trucks. Best of both worlds- large flat non-distorting mirror, and small convex mirror for blind spots. They're also extendable.

Reasonably priced at $150.

I am going with the Aero 2 tow mirrors for my minivan.

Not sure if they would help you or not but they should work perfectly with your power folding mirrors.

Discount Auto Mirrors

I paid <$200 for a pair of power GM towing mirrors from an '06 2500hd. Direct bolt on to my 2002. I had to cut the electrical connectors off and use butt connectors for the power feature but otherwise they fit perfectly.

Mine are not OEM GM mirrors but a knock off. DeeZee maybe? I can't remember.

you may be able to find them now with direct fit electrical plugs to work on your 02. The 07 and up mirrors use a different bolt pattern.

I had the factory mirrors with the slip on extensions and the new mirrors are 10x better.
