When I bought my new trailer this past October, the dealer towed it outside the gate and put it on the shoulder where I then hooked it up myself including putting on my weight distribution bars and sway bar which I already had.
If it looks level, (in the same plane as your TV) you will probably be ok, but if it is not I wouldn't want to do it unless I was crawling.
