As I said the 5.0l trucks have great payload, around 2300 lbs with the heavy duty payload package. They will also have a lot more power and much better fuel economy than a 3/4 ton gasser. If you are just using the truck for towing, this may be the better truck. It still has a 1,050 lbs hitch limit and 9200 lbs tow limit.
The 3/4 ton trucks are better for towing heavier trailers, plowing, truck camper, and fifth wheels.
Heavier trailers are best with the very expensive diesel engines as the gassers will have less power than a half ton due to the three quarter tons much heavier weight.
The heavy half f150 comes with a 8200 lbs GVWR and 4800 lbs rear axle rating.
