Towing setup specialist

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of any towing setup specialists that they would recommend in the Connecticut or mass areas? I have read a lot about can-am but they are obviously too far being that they are in Canada. The more I speak to the dealer I purchased my trailer from the less confidence I have in their ability to properly recommend and setup my vehicle and trailer for towing.

Thank you in advance.

  • Start by posting what trailer and what tow vehicle you have.
Lots of folks here on the Forum can take from there with advice and experience.

In the end, you will do what the rest of us did...get started, learn, make your own experiences and become your own hitch set up expert.

Lots of us started with a simple hitch ball on the back bumper (and survived...sort of)
  • Friends, family, dealers...they can all claim themselves as experts. And for any given title, I can show you a fraudulent example. All you can do is talk to many people, many dealers, and do your best to chose a person to trust.
  • Why do you need a specialist, are you towing a jetliner, space shuttle, something else exotic?

If you believe you need a weight distributing hitch, read / watch reviews on youtube

Likewise there's plenty of information on pin boxes, etc, for towing 5th wheels.

Despite many shortcomings we hear about for just about every dealer, they do sell the things, and have at least some hands on experience with hitching, unhitching, etc.
