Most likely it could be done, that's not to say it would not be without much drama seeing your pal is not an RV person himself but is using borrowed equipment. In my world I would never borrow or loan an RV so not really sure how that will work out.
There's only a select few people I would loan my stuff out too but I would loan it to either one of these guys. We've known each other for a long time and have done stuff like this in the past. I've loaned my older campers to both of these guys on occasion. I'm like you.....I'm pretty sure it could be done I've just never done it and not sure how comfortable the tow would be but I'm an overkill kinda guy when the option is there. I'm going to talk him into just borrowing his truck too. It's the 2500 gas burner so gas mileage will be terrible but everything else is set up much better for towing and I would imagine that 5.3's gas mileage would be in the dump too towing. I see people on the freeways towing bigger campers with the 1500's but that doesn't make it right or a good idea.

Where are you going for vacation? The top of the mountain's or the flat plains?
We're going out to VA Beach. I've went the last 4 years and talked my buddy into going with us this year. Just have to get him geared up for it. The way we will go isn't that bad of a drive. Might be 1 or 2 steeper grades he'd have to work through but even then they're not all that bad.
Thanks for all the input everyone. I was just brain storming last night because I couldn't sleep. Realize I don't really have enough info to do much with. I'll try to get some info on the camper this week and post it up just to update the thread. They'll both be here over superbowl weekend. I do a big party every year and have a bunch of people come stay here that weekend. I'll get more info then and post it up.
