We are going to need a lot more info. Before we can even speculate.
28' TTs can weigh less than 6000lbs loaded ready to camp. Which just about ant 1500 with a 5.3 can easily tow. Or they can weigh as much as 10,000lbs, which almost no 1500 can easily tow.
So you see. We can't help with out some sort of trailer weight. Length is not all that important. And has nothing to do with weight.
Absolutely true...
My 30 foot travel trailer tips the scales at 6006 lbs FULLY loaded except no water.
I have towed it with (3) different vehicles
1) 2012 GMC Acadia, felt like the tail wagging the dog. Over on maximum trailer towing weight. Over on maximum payload. Over on rear axle rating. No problems with power, no problems braking, some higher then normal engine temps on inclines. Very poor fuel consumption and very short wheelbase made it a bit scary to tow.
2) 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 HD Crew Cab 6 foot box with 6.0 Liter, towing package, 3.73 gears. Didn't even feel the trailer, didn't need the WDH but used it anyway. Long wheelbase made it very stable for towing.
3) 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab 5 foot box with 5.3 Liter, towing package, 3.42 gears with maximum payload 16## lbs, and max trailer weight of 9500 lbs. Must use the WDH otherwise too much rear sag, slightly shorter wheelbase then last Sierra is noticeable but manageable. No power issues after you realize the 6 speed is always in too high of a gear and you adjust your awareness.
