Until you buy it second hand, and the failures pile up like a ton of bricks right quickly, due to previous abuse. It's called passing the buck.
But this true of all vehicles. Especially the HD work trucks. Around here you avoid pickups used for snow plowing.
It's the main reason I avoid buying a used truck, if I can. But I would feel safer buying a used Touareg as not many are used for towing.
