Towing with a Tahoe? Please help with numbers.

With my Tahoe and the 4.10 gears pulling a boat and trailer load of 3200 lbs. was pushing the truck to its limit. Stopping was an adventure in itself so I stopped towing with the Tahoe. With a 3.42 rear end I would not want to have a fully loaded SUV and a loaded trailer and go into the mountains with the rig.
