If you were going "broke" towing with the Sequoia you likely won't save any money going with an MB. The MB will be much more expensive to buy and I don't know about servicing costs but I've never heard anyone say that an MB is a cheap vehicle to own and maintain. The increase in towing MPG from 12 to 17 sounds great, but considering the higher cost per gallon of diesel the actual cost per mile may not be much different. There's a subtle yet important difference between "fuel mileage" and "fuel economy".
