I agree do not stop more than necessary. I am sure you will only add heat each time you stop.
Many of the GM transmissions have a Tow Haul mode. If yours does put it in Tow Haul and let the transmission pick the gears. The new transmissions have computers that are smarter than most of us.
Get a scan gauge or equal and you may be able to monitor the transmission temperature in the future. From that you can determine if an auxiliary cooler will be needed.
